Tennessee

Most of the major Jewish communities in Tennessee maintain significant historical archives. In Memphis, Temple Israel maintains an archive with documents from the state's oldest congregation as well as information about the Memphis Jewish community.

In Nashville, The Annette Levy Ratkin Jewish Community Archives are housed in the library at the Gordon Jewish Community Center. The archive contains records from the local B'nai B'rith, Hadassah, and National Council of Jewish Women chapters, as well as the Jewish Community Council. It also maintains back issues of Jewish community newspapers and an extensive oral history collection.

In Knoxville, the Barbara Winick Bernstein Archives of the Jewish Community of East Tennessee contains records from several local Jewish organizations, families, and businesses.  Their website contains a number of historical photos from the local Jewish community.
